Welcome to the Southern Illinois University Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa
Phi Delta Kappa is an international educational association
dedicated to the promotion and creation of excellence in education. Members
of PDK include classroom teachers, college and university faculty and staff,
school administrators, preservice teachers, and others interested in education.
John "Dick" Verduin [photo] is an active member of PDK. He joined the organization in 1959 at Michigan State. During his educational career, Dick has served as an administrator and a professor. Besides these career experiences, Dick is also a prolific author. Dick and his wife spend the winter months in Florida but Carbondale is their home. SIU's chapter was proud to honor him at a luncheon on May 4, 2009 for his dedication to PDK and his service to education at a luncheon.
